    Verdict

Henry Cecil's Dea Caelestis may well improve for the step up in trip on her reappearance but she needs to and a safer bet looks to be Pediment, who gets the vote ahead of Closertobelieving. The last mentioned was well held in the Wood Ditton on his debut but has shown gradual improvement since then and there could be more to come back up in trip. Soggy Dollar showed a decent level of form as a two-year-old and has to be of interest on his reappearance over a trip that may bring about improvement. Piano Sonata has been disappointing so far, while Willie Muir's Shesha Bear improved for the longer trip last time and has to be considered. Pediment has shown a consistent level of form though and James Fanshawe's filly is taken to gain a deserved first success today.
