Verdict

Emma Lavelle's string couldn't be in better form and you'd expect Tidal Dance to step up on his third at Wincanton, his first try over timber. But the one to beat looks to be SHERNANDO, who has won three times on the Flat and showed promise in a couple of starts last season over hurdles. His comeback third at Ascot came in much better company than this. Hand On Bach is a point-to-point winner and was always going to struggle over 2m at Newbury. He should do better now given a test of stamina but it's difficult to see many of the others getting involved.
