In depth

Verdict

A race spiced up by the presence of German raider, Pardus. A winner at Strasburg over hurdles, he was a Group 3 performer on the flat in his native land. His best form looks to be on a heavy surface so all eyes will be on him today. We will stick with home advantage though and Be My Destiny is selected as our choice for the opener. Mark Pitman posted a winner on Thursday and this horse was far from disgraced behind His Nibs on his last outing. Today's conditions should not phase him and he is at least progressive. First Day Cover is respected. Noel Chance's charge beat the useful Putup Or Shutup in a bumper at Plumpton and if he is fired up first time out, he should be capable of a good show. Mylo was given a very tender ride at Warwick last time out but could be better on a faster surface. Kapelhoff and Golden Crusader have had plenty of chances to get off the mark whilst Riverblue, who is better known on the level these days, has shown little in similar conditions.
