Verdict

Goose Green would be interesting here if returning to the sort of form that brought him two wins in succession on fast ground over this trip, while Lago Indiano is a decent yardstick who finds winning difficult and in a tricky race to call we will side with UNDERSTORY to beat Buona Sarah. The Mark Johnston-trained pick won a Wolverhampton maiden in March and was enjoying a reasonably good spring until the wheels came off in a competitive handicap at Goodwood. This looks easier and with the ground to suit we will chance him to come right again. Buona Sarah has one of those consistent yet vulnerable profiles. She has made the frame on each of her last three starts and could make this into a real test, though she will probably find at least one too good. One Cool Poppy will appreciate a 2lb drop since her last run and the tongue strap might also help her, so a market check is advised, but Understory gets the vote.
