Not a race for the faint hearted and we'd expect to see proven campaigners Kiltimoney and Alderbrook Girl battling away but they are vulnerable so we'll give a chance to the unexposed CHARLIE POOLE. Apocalozzo has to be feared but he has to carry a big weight, lacks a run and is unproven on this ground so supporting him would be little more than blind faith in Tim Vaughan which may not actually be the worst thing to do. Alderbrook Girl has twice made the frame in three visits here and has a decent chance of earning a little more place money but she does struggle to get her head in front. Peveril Pride is a little less predictable but has the ability to make the frame on a going day as do Strolling Vagabond, Follow The Flow and Kiltimoney. This will be the selection's first run over fences in public and he has failed to win a race over hurdles. However, the closest he came to success was in heavy ground at Plumpton over two miles two so this test should hold no fears for him if his jumping holds up. He was disappointing on his seasonal return but he's been given plenty of time and Charlie Poole may be able to bounce back.
