    In depth

    Verdict

Christdalo looks all set to carry her penalty to success against moderate opposition, the best of whom appears to Bathwick Lucy. David Pipe will be a little dismayed that Christaldo has failed to build on her sole success to date which came at Chepstow in December, a not unexpected result after her unlucky effort at Cheltenham the time before. To be fair though she has taken on much better company back at Cheltenham and more recently Haydock, and it will be a major surprise if she fails here. Successful in bumper company and between the flags in Ireland, she has a bright future and could develop into a decent staying mare. She has little to beat today, that is for sure, with Bathwick Lucy taken to chase her home. She was well beaten in a bumper round here on her debut under rules in November, but has shown more than the rest here can muster between them. All in all, this should be a formality for Christdalo.
