Verdict

Not a race to shout about but something has to win and it is Jim Bobs Girl who is taken to bounce back to form, with Mystical Star and The Laying Hen rated as dangers. The selection was disappointing when last seen at Chepstow but that was on testing ground and the ground down there can be a world of its own. Whilst she is yet to win in 15 starts all told, she has run some good races in defeat and now back over fences she is taken to finally get her head in front. Roddy The Vet knows how to win but is hardly the most reliable, although he has run good races here before and may do so again. Peveril Pride is a course and distance winner, but his sole career victory came in December and on recent evidence he would be hard pushed to win an egg and spoon race. Harry Collins has claims, but top-weight makes life a lot tougher, so of more interest may be Mystical Star who has run two good races here at the track on his last two outings and whilst he tends to be placed more than he wins, he should be in the shake-up. The Laying Hen is another who comes here in better form than most, having finished third here last time out, but he is yet to score and needs to improve slightly. As does our selection Jim Bobs Girl, however we will place our faith in her once again.
