Verdict

A difficult race for the punters to fathom and Wild Ground is put up as the tentative selection ahead of Massini Sunset and Ballyman. Wild Ground did finish behind Massini Sunset when the pair last met but the mare will be enjoying a hefty pull at the weights this afternoon and with trainer, Brendan Powell, in such good form of late, that is enough to tip the scales in her favour. Ballyman hails from the Jonathan Geake stable. Three miles around Huntingdon really didnt look to suit but the actual performance was fair enough over the first couple of miles. Amoreigh was something of a front runner when trained in Ireland and makes a debut for Peter Bowen having not seen the track for a couple of years. Xila Fontenailles was well beaten in a bad race last time out and that hardly bodes well here. Delaneys Triumph is still a maiden but has shown glimpses of ability in staying races and could be worth an each-way interest. Monsieur Georges has produced his better efforts under David Crosse although that really isnt saying much. Wild Ground looks the percentage call in a race that won't live too long in the memory.
