In depth

Formwatch

Aspirant Dancer Impressive winner at Market Rasen earlier in the season, but has been disappointing since then and pulled up latest start. Best watched for the time being.

Frogmarch (USA) Reliable type who nearly always runs his race. However, weighted to the hilt and seems to face quite a stiff task at these weights.

Deymiar (IRE) Ran well for a long way at Newbury recently, and while the drop back in trip should suit, he hasn't won for almost two years so realistically probably has place prospects at best.

It Takes Time (IRE) Useful bumper horse who so far remains unbeaten over hurdles. The handicapper does not appear to have been overly harsh with him, so with going and trip no obvious problem he looks to be the clear form pick.

Count Tony Pulled up last time after a promising run on his reappearance. Seems to have had his share of problems, but jockey booking catches the eye and as long as he is in good shape he has a reasonable chance.

Lord of Love Hinted at a return to form last time at Newbury but overall it's hard to see him being involved in the finish.

Got News For You Decent effort when just touched off at Southwell recently, but this would appear to be a lot harder, and it would be a surprise if he was good enough.

Dutch Dyane Not in the best of form and seems to have plenty of weight for what she has achieved.

Bigwig (IRE) Capable all-weather performer, whose two hurdles wins have both come at Plumpton. Remains in reasonable form, but this is quite a stiff task.

Christy's Pride (IRE) Battling performance when just beaten at Newbury last time, and that form would give him every chance here, having previously won well over course and distance. One for the shortlist.

Kentford Busy B All out to win a moderate race at Exeter in October and seems very harshly treated on that form. Beaten twice since then.

Flying Footsie Entitled to come on for recent reappearance, but she didn't show too much promise and hard to make a claim for her really.

Basil Two stones out of the handicap and apparently facing an impossible task.
