Last year's County Hurdle winner and Ebor Handicap fourth Ted Veale has now had seven races over fences and has one third place to his credit and his form has got progressively worse. This should be his easiest task to date though he's not one to have an interest in and CLONBANAN LAD looks a safer option. He's been placed behind several decent rivals and would have finished runner-up at Roscommon last time but for breaking down on the run-in. Definite Ruby makes her debut over fences and landed a novice hurdle for Nicky Henderson last year so is an interesting debutant for Gordon Elliott but Cairdin has been running poorly. Il Fenomeno, three times a winner over hurdles, has yet to fulfil potential over the bigger obstacles.
