Verdict

LILLY THE LIONESS scored at the Festival here and, though unable to cope with an 8lb rise in a better race at Killarney, can get back to winning ways here. Knockanarrigan was in tremendous form last summer but has a very long absence to overcome in this tough handicap but Damut is progressing nicely and should make a bold bid to defy an 8lb rise for his latest victory at Cork. The four-year-old Punch Bag was beaten a long way on his hat-trick attempt at Ballinrobe, though he had Waver behind at Limerick earlier. Killiney Court was the easy winner of a Downpatrick maiden but this is much tougher.
