In depth

Verdict

CARLINGFORD LOUGH, four times a winning hurdler from just six starts, looks a potentially high-class recruit to fences as he's now on a mark of 144 over timber. He'll be difficult to beat providing he takes to the bigger obstacles but that shouldn't be a problem for another chasing recruit Betterthanalright, who has a point-to-point victory to his credit. Killcara Boy jumped adequately on his chasing bow at Killarney but wasn't anywhere near as good as the selection over hurdles while Protaras, though just the type to make a chaser, might just need the experience. Watercolours was a long-time maiden over timber in the UK but may do better for Shark Hanlon.
