In depth

Verdict

Afro has been in good form on the Fibresand but was well behind CIVIL WAR at Windsor last month. Gary Moore's five-year-old took a while to get going at the Thamesside track but was well on top at the end and this longer trip will suit as he went close several times over hurdles over the winter. Kings Bayonet and Pippa Greene have also been in action over timber, as has Dollar Bill, but Daring Indian was beaten in a claimer on the Polytrack last month. Poitin is lightly raced on Turf but can be a tricky ride so Story Writer looks best of the rest.
