In depth

Verdict

Bailey, Connor's Choice and Hepburn Bell are the three to consider in a trappy contest, with Bailey taken to make experience count. James Fanshawe introduces a daughter of Intikhab in Hepburn Bell, with her breeding suggesting she will need a longer trip to be seen to best effect. The trainer is more than capable of readying one first time though, and with the soft ground set to make stamina count, she is respected. Connor's Choice ran his best race to date when finishing a good second last time, benefitting from a step up in trip. If he makes further progression as seems likely he must be in the shake up. Bailey looks the safest conveyance though. Despite failing to score in five starts to date, he ran especially well at Newmarket in a nursery won by Cobo Bay that has worked out well. He has subsequently run a good race in defeat in another keenly contested nursery at Goodwood, and Bailey looks set to score at the sixth attempt.
