In depth

Verdict

Recent winner's The Cayterers and Who's Winning along with River Kirov look the three to concentrate on here with the vote going to the last named. Only beaten a short-head last time out at Windsor, Peter Chapple-Hyam's charge can make amends today off the same mark. The in-form Jimmy Fortune takes over from Jamie Spencer in the saddle and as he looks progressive there could feasibly be plenty more to come. Good or quicker ground suits and he looks the one to be on. Blues In The Night returns from a winter break after a disappointing last run but he has been in good form prior to that lapse and with red-hot Seb Sanders in the plate, he must have claims. Who's Winning has a 6lb penalty for his narrow win at Folkestone which makes life trickier, so of more interest may be the hat-trick seeking The Cayterer although he may just need the run. Watch the market for clues. Marko Jadeo is fairly reliable but needs to step up a gear which he may not possess, and therefore we will return to River Kirov as the selection.
