COSSACK PRINCE gets our backing in the finale, ahead of Streets Apart and Saloon. Lucy Mongan's colt won here very easily last time out when returning to the flat, but was given a very easy lead and never saw another rival. He's had a couple of goes over hurdles, but the flat is more to his liking it seems, and that first turf win couldn't have been more comfortable. He's been reasonably treated for it, and still racing off a lower mark than when previously running on the all-weather. Streets Apart ran creditably on her handicap debut last time out, but may want a little juice in the ground. That fourth place at Yarmouth though was in a slightly better race than this. Saloon has never lived up to expectations after once costing $400,000, but he has won over this trip on Polytrack. It took him a dozen goes to lose his maiden tag, but did so at the first time of asking for Jane Chapple-Hyam, and then ran a good second when stepped up in trip. Beware of your Pompeys here; Play Up Pompey and Star of Pompey are drawn on opposite sides of the stalls but have similar colours. Our selection in the lucky last though isn't either of them, but Cossack Prince.
