In depth

Verdict

In A Silent Way only just failed to score at the first time of asking at York in a competitive looking race. She can be reasonably expected to improve for that effort and as only a reproduction of that run may be good enough here, she is likely to be a very warm favourite. However it always difficult to know just how good the debutantes are and with Richard Hannon continuing to demonstrate that he has the strongest two-year-old string in training, To The Rescue has to be feared as he is almost certain to be ready first time out. Ian Balding too has a good record in these types of events this season although Pacific Paddy was cheaply bought and may be best watched. Of the remainder Mick Channon's main hope may come with Daisy Do who has had some stiff tasks so far while her stablemate Lady Pan Jammer has shown little to date.
