An exceptionally competitive maiden with few of the runners having been over the trip. Willie Mullins runs Glenlo Abbey and Red Tiger with the former likely to attract most support but the latter has always looked a potentially useful stayer and could come out on top this time. Curling improved to finish runner-up to First Impression at Naas but had previously been a long way behind Glenlo Abbey at Leopardstown when the latter was runner-up to Westmeath. King Of The Refs was challenging when falling at the last in First Impression's race at Naas but had earlier pulled up behind Raz De Maree at Navan when COOTAMUNDRA, who gets the nod here, finished an excellent second. The selection didn't get the required stamina test over 2m4f on a return visit and with this likely to be run at a fast pace he can finally get off the mark. Jakros and Rich Revival are others to consider in a very open event.
