Verdict

Sharjah won once in eight starts on the Flat in France and that was on the all-weather. He makes his debut for Willie Mullins in a race that may not take much winning, despite a big field, though DIS DONC looks a more natural for hurdling on pedigree. Noel Meade's charge won two bumpers in France last autumn and, with his stable going well, can make a successful debut for the yard. Great Trango has finished runner-up in his two starts over timber and also twice on the level so his experience could count while English Pale ran very well behind Guitar George at Clonmel and won't need much more to get into contention. Ligeti has shown ability in two starts over timber and gained his third success at Dundalk a week ago so has to be respected.
