In depth

Verdict

Ed Dunlop's got a couple here who should figure at the vanguard, with LITTLE CALLA preferred to stable-mate Princess Zohra and Sky High Kid. The selection ran nicely on debut, and if coming on for that experience could land this. She cost connections 145 thousand Guineas in the autumn and may have paid dividends immediately if she'd been quicker away, which ultimately cost her a place. No doubt she'll have had further schooling from the stalls. Princess Zohra drops down from seven to six furlongs, but judging by the way she was running late on first time out, she may want further in time. Sky High Kid, another expensive purchase last year, also finished well down the field on debut for Mick Channon, who could provide him with his first success for a while. Support for either newcomer Thoosa or Chase End should be noted, but our preference is for Little Calla.
