In depth

Verdict

CARIBBEAN GOLD backed up a promising first run over a mile with a third over track and trip last month, when Allegedly Perfect was behind, and can make it third-time lucky today ahead of Charliecando, who has placed in three of his last four but appeared to find 5f too sharp last time. Thenextbestthing could be interesting making his debut on this track and a third at Arlington in the autumn has worked out well while any market support for Christophe Clement’s newcomer Uncle George would have to be taken seriously as he was a $310,000 yearling. Sagamore Mischief also has a nice pedigree but has already been gelded.
