In depth

Verdict

BONNIE LESLEY has the best form on offer but faces a demanding task off 9-13, including a 6lb penalty for a taking success at Ayr last time, clearing away with authority to claim a first success. Clearly suited by that step up to a seventh furlong, the concern now is the forecast soft ground which she has yet to tackle. That tempers confidence but she is on the upgrade and can hopefully concede weight all round. Twilight Pearl has shown enough in four runs to earn a shortlist place, especially having gone well on heavy ground here when a close second in maiden auction company. Mace The Ace has yet to make the frame but he has displayed promise and looks the sort to be suited by the move into handicap company. Ian Burns claims a useful 7lb.
