Verdict

Crystal River was sent to Newcastle by Godolphin for his debut in November and ran quite well over 7f. He's been transferred to the in-form William Haggas, who wouldn't be sending him on the long journey from Newmarket without good reason. Pat Shanahan's Farage finished a long way last on his debut at Newbury and has a stayer's pedigree while Irvine Lady finished last in a minor handicap here on Saturday. BOMBAY went to Ripon for his belated debut last week and beat all bar the odds-on Musical Terms, who is trained by Haggas. David O'Meara's charge has the scope to do much better and looks the one to beat.
