In the opener, No Grouse is selected ahead of George The Best and Strawberry Patch. Oeuf a la Neige has now dropped to a very competitive mark if racing anywhere near the level of his 2006 best, and George The Best goes well here and comes here on the back of a good track effort that can see him competitive today. Rondo met trouble in running last time and is another that has dropped to a fair mark if back in the groove now, while Strawberry Patch is just a pound above a winning mark from last summer so can be fancied on that basis. Mister Incredible seems better on the all-weather, while Seven No Trumps is possibly two or three pounds above a winning mark at present. No Grouse's course and distance third to Night In last time brings him right into things, while Turkish Sultan has been running well of late and holds place claims. All in all, a competitive race, with the selection being No Grouse.
