In depth

Verdict

More than half of this field were sent off favourite on their latest start but Count Montecristo has now found one too good in each of his last four. He's rated 4lb higher than an equally-frustrating Don Keyhoe Tay, though the latter is less exposed. Inexes has his first run for Marjorie Fife having been with John Gosden last year and the ex-Irish Pianola also has her first start for a new yard. BROMYARD's sire Dark Angel has had a brilliant season and this gelding is a half-brother to two winners including Diesel Ten, who won twice over this trip in Ireland as a three-year-old. David Simcock's charge could be good enough to make a winning debut.
