Verdict

UPHOLLAND made his debut in a much better maiden than this at Goodwood in July and will have come on for the experience. He should go close at this level and is preferred to stablemate and newcomer Unfinishedbusiness. Red Pike proved a disappointment when stepped up to today's trip at Newcastle and Focusfourthoughts makes more appeal on his debut effort over 5f at Redcar where he finished third. The remainder are harder to fancy unless there's sustained market interest in newcomer The Cat.
