In depth

Verdict

AYR POET has done nothing but improve this year. He’s won two of four previous starts here and finished second in the other two and can defy a penalty to make it four wins from the last five. Flying Moon is also penalised but is another with a solid record on this track and Smeaton is a previous course and distance winner eased in grade after his third at Pontefract 11 days ago. Sands Chorus can’t get much lower in the weights and Talk Now has done well since joining Iain Jardine. Moxy Mares and Star Of Valour are others who want a mention in a competitive affair.
