In depth

Verdict

So Cloudy can make the most of his light weight to account for The Sneakster, Clouding Over and Troll. Like David Pipe, Donald McCain Jnr has made the seamless transition from assistant to guvnor, and he could well have a well-handicapped individual here in So Cloudy who was a comfortable winner at Hexham in May. She has been very consistent in defeat since then, and was the only one to get near the winner Verstone at Sedgefield on her last outing in August. A small break since then will have done the mare no harm, and she can come out on top here. The Sneakster blundered two out at Ludlow a fortnight ago which did not help her chance, but she is better treated than in the summer, while Clouding Over was a beaten favourite at Perth in July and may find the ground too soft on her return, and of the rest, Troll is worth a mention, as she has showed promise in the past. Castleshane is not the force of old, but has taken on far better opponents in his prime so is added to the list, with preference for So Cloudy in receipt of weight from all.
