Verdict

This looks a decent contest and Desert Destiny has to be respected along with Tout Seul and Court Masterpiece, but we will side with Three Graces. The selection has had a spell racing in Dubai, where he has continued to progress well after showing a good deal of promise last season. His second behind Membership at Redcar was a decent effort and with conditions to suit here he looks the one to beat. Desert Destiny finished fifth in the French 2000 Guineas last season and he ended the season by coming home fourth in a close finish in a Listed race at York behind Vanderlin. With the Godolphin string now beginning to hit form it would be no surprise to see this 4-year-old run a big race with the impressive Kerrin McEvoy in the plate. But with Frankie Dettori opting to ride Three Graces it would be a surprise if he were good enough to beat our selection. Tout Seul finished last behind Russian Rhythm in the Lockinge last season, and although he has had his fair share of problems he would have a serious chance here on the pick of his form. Court Masterpiece is a strapping colt who has had his fair share of injury problems, but he shaped well on his last racecourse appearance when returning from a lengthy break to finish third behind Naahy at Goodwood. He is another that can't be ruled out of this in a competitive affair, but Three Graces sets a good standard and is given the vote.
