In depth

Verdict

Grand Inquisitor had been running well in better class handicaps than this before disappointing at Newmarket last month. The cheekpieces he wore for the first time that day have been left off here. Two For Two's last victory came at Ayr last summer off a 5lb higher mark while SPRING OFFENSIVE is just 3lb higher than his victory at this level at Ripon in May. The latter gets the vote with Adam McNamara again able to utilise his claim. Pick Your Choice has only had five starts and looked progressive when landing a Yarmouth handicap, though this is much tougher. Silvery Moon's victory here early last month was on very heavy ground and though Chosen Character has a cracking record here the ground may prove too quick. Lat Hawill was conceding 8lb when narrowly beaten by Treasury Notes at Ripon and can take his revenge on the revised terms.
