In depth

Verdict

Tim Easterby, Richard Fahey and Brian Ellison all saddle two runners but it's Jackie Coward's TAPIS LIBRE who looks the one to be on. Joanna Mason rode him to victory in the Ladies Derby at Epsom and though that was a slightly lower grade handicap than this the eight-year-old has since run a fine race in a Class 2 at Ripon. Dance King wasn't far behind in that latter event and looks best of the Easterby pair while Top of The Glas gained his first victory in two years at Carlisle and is just 1lb higher. It's just a year since Gabrial's King won a Listed handicap at Chester and he's been racing over much longer trips without replicating that form. I Am Not Here will get a good ride from Emma Sayer and would have a definite chance on his victory at Ayr in June while neither Multellie nor English Summer can be discounted in a very competitive event.
