Verdict

An interesting opener to the card at Haydock; despite the lack of numbers, and it looks to be a good opportunity for Every Note Counts to finally gain a first win on the turf. But Pavement Gates and The Vartlet will not go down without a fight and this could go right down to the wire. However, the official figures for the race do give the selection a slender edge here but the fact that he finished a good 10 lengths in front of the useful Football Crazy over an extended 10 furlongs here last time out, would suggest that he has a little more in hand than the assessor has yet given him credit for. The son of Bluegrass Prince should have no problem with today's extra distance though and Every Note Counts is a confident choice to get the meeting off to a flyer.
