Verdict

Postscript won this last year but is 6lb higher today having been upped in the weights for a recent win at Chepstow. Chosen Character is finding life tough off his current mark and came up short again at Chester while Les Troyens failed to threaten in a couple of starts last month. Ascription is less exposed than all of the aforementioned but has an 11lb hike in the weights to contend with after scoring by four lengths at Goodwood on his latest start while Doncaster winner Storm King has the ability to go close but is hard to predict. AL MUHEER has to be forgiven a below par run at Thirsk but his earlier third at York gives him every chance in this and Ruth Carr's charge gets the tentative vote in a competitive handicap ahead of the three-year-olds Lord Ashley and Swift Cedar.
