In depth

Verdict

A very competitive start to proceedings. There are six three-year-olds in the line-up and five of them were winners last time, though Freedom Day has switched stables since scoring at Redcar. Sudden Ambush is seeking a third victory of the campaign and Isle Of Jura is on a hat-trick but Kathab had little to beat at Ripon. Poet Master is upped in trip but won here latest and is 2-2. Bodorgan has started favourite the last twice and will appreciate easier conditions but HAFEET ALAIN, the senior runner in this, arrives in good nick as he made the subsequent Golden Mile third Dutch Decoy fight all the way to the line at Newmarket after winning on the July Course in June and Connor Planas takes off a handy 5lb again. Diamondonthehill looks back to his best and Fantastic Fox and Helm Rock aren’t out of this.
