Verdict

Doctor Phoenix didn’t do much wrong on his reappearance at Wetherby and will be fancied to go one better here, despite a 3lb rise. GINO TRAIL played up on the way to the start at Ludlow but never saw another rival in the race itself. Very lightly raced for his age, he could follow up in this much more competitive affair if better behaved. Ut Majeur Aulmes was in good form in the spring and ran well for a long way at Newbury last month so also goes in the short-list while Big Jim could go well if fully wound-up. Likewise Gardefort but Indian Voyage is struggling to get his head in front and Dan Skelton reaches for the cheekpieces on Master Jake after a modest effort at Sedgefield.
