In depth

Verdict

Most of those with form have achieved their figures in the pointing arena whereas GIBBES BAY (NAP) strode to a pretty emphatic victory for a newcomer when scoring in a competitive bumper at the Scottish National meeting last term. His promising young rider represents excellent value for his claim and he makes plenty of appeal to maintain his unbeaten record here. Ballynorth Benny and Cadeyrn both scored on their sole point-to-point runs and keep an eye on the market regarding the unraced Hobbs duo of Awake At Midnight and Costly Dream. However, the main danger to the selection may well come from Another Stowaway, a promising third on his sole run between the flags before joining the Tom George yard which has made such a pleasing start to the season proper.
