In depth

Verdict

PUTRA ONE looks a good bet to land this maiden; the list of dangers is headed by Charity Belle and Grey Granite. The selection has had a few chances now but his form is basically quite solid and a reproduction of his run last time out might be enough to see him shed his maiden tag today. Grey Granite has only had two runs and the maiden he ran in last season has worked out well. He was hampered on his seasonal reappearance at Thirsk so that run can be forgiven and he could be worth another chance. Charity Belle is an interesting newcomer from a yard in form and she is certainly one to consider if the market speaks in her favour. Nayef Star has been off the track since 2007 and he is also stepping into the unknown with today's trip so he may be best watched today, while East of The Sun is a newcomer certainly worth noting in the market. There are plenty in with a chance and the narrow vote goes to Putra One.
