Verdict

David Pipe has won this in devastating fashion in two of the past three seasons with Grands Crus and Dynaste so it's no surprise to see the support behind Gevrey Chambertin. He looked a right prospect last term until disappointing at the Cheltenham - backed as if defeat was not contemplated - and Aintree festivals. He obviously needs taking very seriously. Last year's winner Trustan Times faces the toughest of challenges at the weights whilst Two Rockers and Master Of The Sea have the potential to maintain their progress after novice campaigns of real promise last term. Knock A Hand and Utopie Des Bordes also make appeal but the choice is GULLINBURSTI on this return to hurdles after an emphatic chase success at Market Rasen on his reappearance. The Lavelle yard remains in high form and confidence in her charge would be heightened by further softening of the ground.
