A wide open handicap gets proceedings under way and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Perfect Punch, Middlethorpe, Colourful Lady and My Line and we will take a chance on Middlethorpe. The gelding from the Mick Easterby yard is on a handy mark and this will be the first time this season he has got his correct ground and with the stable in form he could go well at a big price. Colourful Lady rates the main danger she was a good second behind Mexican Pete last time out and that form has since been franked, she will not be far away off what looks a fair mark. Anchorsholme is another worthy of respect he is from a top yard and has shown a modicum of ability over similar trips he could be well in for this his handicap debut and is worth noting in the market. Perfect Punch has been in fair form of late and a reproduction of his latest fourth behind Alfano would give him definite place claims. Of the remainder Ducs Dream won well last time out when defeating Ampoule but he may struggle under his penalty. Colway Ritz is another that has dropped to a handy mark and is proven on the ground but he a race where stakes are best kept to a minimum we will take a chance on Middlethorpe.
