Verdict

Ballesteros weakened close home when third over C&D on his debut but this quicker ground should aid his cause and Brian Meehan's colt looks the pick of those with previous experience. There looks to be dangers aplenty among the newcomers, however, with Richard Fahey saddling the Cockney Rebel colt Badea and Richard Hannon responsible for expensive purchase Fort Bastion. Dandy Nicholls should win races with Man Of My Word but the stable's two-year-olds often need a run or two so preference today is for MEZMAAR. From the same family as smart sprinter Tante Rose, the Teofilio colt has plenty of fancy entries and is obviously held in some regard by connections.
