A well-contested handicap in which it's tempting to go along with Manchestar after the Fahey inmate delivered such an excellent comeback run at Thirsk this month after a year off. However, this looks a slightly better race and there's always the dreaded 'bounce' factor to take into account. He is very well respected though. Both Ice Slice and Duelling Dragon are of interest from the foot of the weights, as is Altharoos, who hasn't been punished too severely by the assessor for a cosy Beverley victory last time. Certificate will be all the better for his return to action and Seamus Durack's French import, Tournament, looks the sort to improve again. However, we'll take a chance with SI SENOR on his seasonal reappearance. Still lightly-raced, he's a strong-travelling sort who should make into a good four-year-old handicapper this season and has gone well in the past for Freddie Tylicki. He also came good first time up last term.
