In depth

Verdict

Rubberdubber secures the verdict ahead of Migwell and Big Bone. Charlie Egerton's charge looked to be pitched in off a fair mark on chasing debut at Newbury and he duly delivered. He has gone up 10lb for that victory but it would be no surprise to see him go in again as he won the Newbury contest as he liked and there does not look to be too much strength in depth at the moment. Migwell was a fair winner of a contest over 2.5 miles. He jumps well enough although he might be better for a step up in trip rather than a drop down as this is. Neither horse will want to give Big Bone a soft lead. Philip Hobbs' perennial front runner is likely to have come on greatly for his first run and he is likely to attempt to make all. Nycetos had shown form over hurdles but appeared to be penalised accordingly. This is a tough introduction in spite of the fact that he is technically well-in on those hurdle ratings. Madison Du Berlais ran a fair third at Warwick on his most recent start. The race was ran at a scorching gallop and there were many casualties as a result. Things will be a little more pedestrian this afternoon. Lord Lington has produced his better efforts with faster ground. Alphabetical is potentially unexposed. Rubberdubber looks a progressive sort and we shall not oppose on this occasion.
