In depth

Verdict

Peltwell has clearly improved for the fitting of cheekpieces but was a very warm favourite for yesterday’s 1.30 at Newcastle. In his possible absence, we’ll side with SAINT ARVANS who probably just needed the run, his first since successful at Kelso in December, when fourth in a stronger heat at Wetherby. Frightened Rabbit is a past winner here and looked to have dropped to a fair mark when second at Newcastle while Navan runner-up Kasakh Noir can’t be left out of calculations with the champion doing the steering.
