Verdict

If producing his hurdles form now taking to chasing the lightly raced Barnhill Brownie has every chance of winning this Novices' chase but with a slight doubt over the ground we'll side with BEAUTIFUL VISION, who has won and made the frame twice in his last four chase starts, while Wychwoods Legend is the only other to make any appeal. After not staying a marathon trip on his debut for his current yard the selection has since found his feet winning a beginners' event before grabbing silver medal honours on his last two stars. His last run behind Calusa Caldera has worked out well and his fencing experience might just make the difference. Barnhill Brownie won two of four hurdles starts last season but looked over rated when switching into a decent handicap on his last start. He probably is the best over timber in this race but he is yet to go on ground this fast and could be caught out by the bigger obstacles. Wychwoods Legend receives weight all round here given a mare's allowance and showed enough over timber to suggest a challenge on these terms but with proven chasing form in the book Beautiful Vision is preferred.
