In depth

Verdict

Omaruru has been placed in his last two starts but appears to lack an extra gear so may not be suited by this sharp track. The filly Pepite Rose won easily at Folkestone and appears to be improving, while Molon Labe ran a nice race on his introduction in modest company at Hexham. Paintball was a decent handicapper on the Flat for Willie Muir last summer and should be placed to good effect shortly but this may rest between Philip Hobbs' French bumper winner Tony Star and DHAAFER. Preference is for the latter, who was clear of the remainder when chasing home the well-regarded Local Hero in his latest start at Wetherby.
