Verdict

Travel can beat Mantles Prince in the finale, with Whispered Secret likely to be hindered by his weight. The final race on the card can see Travel follow up his hard-fought win gained at Perth just over three weeks ago. Tom George's charge beat Heraclitian Fire by a neck only at the finish after hanging to his left on the run-in. He was taken into the lead two out but quite understandably tired on what was his first outing since last October, and with that under his belt, the Polish import should prove hard to beat. Mantles Prince gained his first British victory when landing a seller over two miles here recently, and this one-time useful chaser should at least handle the trip. At the age of 11, his best days are behind him though and he is hard to fancy. Whispered Secret proved that he stays two and a half miles at least when scoring on fast ground at Worcester last July, but three miles might have been stretching his stamina a bit too much at Uttoxeter on what was only his second outing of the year. Pipe's runner has plenty of weight for what he has achieved so far, and he too is passed over in favour of Travel.
