      Verdict

Master Malt, runner-up to River Maigue at Ayr last April, probably came up against another decent performer in Tradewinds at Kempton last month and will be unfortunate to come up against anything as good as that pair but may do so in DAKAR RUN. Richard Fahey's superbly-bred son of Dalakhani went to Wetherby last month with plenty of confidence behind him and he duly obliged. With further progress likely he can remain unbeaten though there are a couple of newcomers to watch out for. Charlie Longsdon won this last year so Long Lunch, who is related to several winners, can go well along with Masquerade, whose yard does well in these events.
