Verdict

R'CAM is selected ahead of Mr Big and Anthony's Road in this tricky novices chase. The last named was greatly consistent in Irish points-to-points but has shown very little in three starts over hurdles for Jonjo O'Neil. The gelding has the frame of chaser, though, and, as he sports an eye-shield for the first time, he may well improve a touch for the switch to regulation fences. Mr Big is also a product of the Irish Points scene and jumped well on his UK chasing debut 17 days ago. He looks likely to find a race before too long and is shortlisted as a 'live-one' to watch in the betting. Any support for Seize would also be noteworthy, as he was backed off the boards last time out and the market will be a good guide as to whether his connections are seeking a quick repayment. However, races of this nature are notoriously tough to fathom and it may also be profitable to seek out an unexposed type. R'Cam certainly fits the bill. The Carl Llewellyn-trained gelding has gone well fresh in the past and, with the yard runners dropping hints of a return to form R'Cam rates as a solid value choice here.
