Verdict

POWER PACK JACK was from fluent on his chasing debut up at Kelso, but he ran a blinder in defeat and he is fancied to see off Lord Appellare and last-years winner Constantius in a very winnable race. The selection made several jumping errors last month but to finish an eight-lengths second to Garleton was some effort. He needs to improve his jumping with a young pilot on-board, however he has plenty of scope for improvement and this mark of 93 looks lenient. Treasulier disappointed when fancied for a Taunton race last month, River Ripples has ability but his form is patchy, whilst Stop The Show may fare better now stepped back up in trip. Sandymac ran well at Leicester having been given a lot to do but he looks high enough in the weights, Lord Appellare has put in two solid displays of late, whilst Cross Compliance was well-backed on the first start for the yard at Catterick and he travelled well for a long way before getting tired. Chase debutant Billybo needs considering along with Donald Will Do, however Constantius may be more of a threat. Kim Bailey's charge won this race last year off a mark of 81, exactly the same as he runs off today. An open heat, where preference is for Power Pack Jack.
