Kings Bay, Jackie Boy and Box On are three against the field in a competitive opener and we will give the vote to Kings Bay. The selection was very disappointing last time out but prior to that he had won well when defeating Heir To Be. That form has since been franked and with this faster surface sure to suit he is taken to regain winning ways. Jackie Boy looked a fair sort in bumpers but was disappointing behind Diamond Orchid on his hurdling debut and is sure to have learnt from the experience. Box On showed enough in two runs last season to suggest he could win a race of this nature but he may come on for the run. Of the remainder Guthrie is from a yard that is beginning to hit top form and could run well at a price but for the winner we return to Kings Bay.
